Registering with a valid email address and posting to this BBS means that you accept the following guidelines for the use of this BBS  
 


Guidelines for Participation:
 
• No offensive language.
• No offensive user names.
• No personal attacks or harassment of other posters.
• No messages that are unkind or in poor taste. (Ultimately this judgement will be made by the webmaster)*.
• No advertising or promotion of any kind of commercial services. This includes Not for Profit organizations.
• No religious advertising or promotion of any kind.
• Only one alias allowed per user.


If your message has been removed it is because the acting webmaster determines that you have broken this agreement, by breaking one or more of the guidelines. 

*The webmaster or acting webmaster reserves the right to delete, 
at his or her discretion, posts and threads that do not abide by the Guidelines.
Their judgment is final and will not be a subject for discussion on the BBS.
Any questions regarding deletions or BBS policy should be addressed directly via email to 
wmbbsea(at)eml.cc . Attempts to argue policy on the BBS may result in the suspension of said poster.
 
We  reserve the right to suspend any participant's membership who consistently ignores our guidelines.

It is the policy of this bbs not to allow posts which vent anger or cast allegations against another person or private organization whether justified or not. Although the purpose of this board is to allow discussions of issues this is often the very place where anger and insult can occur; it is up to the judgement of the acting webmaster whether such messages will be allowed or deleted. This is not always an easy call so please bear with the acting webmaster and accept his or her decision. No arguments will be allowed on the BBS regarding message removal. Please do not use this board to discuss personal disputes with local businesses or individuals. Example: You can safely write angry words about Enron, or elected officials, but not specifically about your husband, doctor,  or local delicatessen!

Your registration with a valid email address signifies that you agree and accept these guidelines. And that you accept full and complete responsibility for anything you post and will in no way hold the BBS or its sponsers responsible.

On an anonymous board such as this, flames will arise, tempers may flare, and words may be written that are of an offensive nature. In all cases, any messages that contain offensive personal allegations toward any poster on this board will be removed as soon as possible at the discretion of the webmaster and will not be discussed on the BBS. Due to the nature of this BBS and the way the software has been written, all responses to the offensive message will also be removed; so if you encounter a personally offensive message please do not respond to it, as your response will most likely also be removed.

The current legal issues regarding defamation and libel resulting from exposure on an Internet BBS state that if a libelous message is  removed in a 'reasonable' amount of time, there are no grounds for defamation. A 'reasonable' amount of time has been loosely defined as two days. These legal archives are readily available on the Internet. Considering the real-time anonymous nature of this bulletin board (BBS), it is impossible for us to review messages other than on a periodic basis, but anything that even hints at defamation will be removed as soon as it comes to our attention.

Please understand that every time you post on this board anonymously or otherwise, you leave a log file which indicates when and where the post was made from. In the event of a libel or defamation of character suit you can be held responsible for what you write. So please be careful: when you identify another person and say something bad about him/her, that is defamation of character. You don't have to name that person, as long as people would know whom you are talking about. For example you wouldn't have to name John Jones if instead you referred to him as the owner of Jones's Department Store.

Posted messages express the views of the author , not  the views of this BBS or any entity associated with this BBS. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so, within a ' reasonable' time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary. This is a manual process, however, so please realize that we may not be able to remove or edit particular messages immediately.
