As a lurker of several months in the Bandon BBS I have never felt compelled to post until I read your words. I now need to add a hearty agreement to your post and to thank you for taking the time to compose it.

I'm not very eloquent, but I do believe that we need more people to move from the "how does this benefit/harm me?" mentality to "how does this benefit/harm my fellow humans?" While we are not responsible for the choices our neighbors may make, we should be held accountable when through circumstance of birth their options are limited.
