Well...years ago when we had the band I played guitar.But we had trouble keeping a drummer because they are a weird bunch and from some other planet.
So I told the guys I would get a drum kit,learn how to play and get us another guitar player,since they are a dime a dozen,to take my place.
It worked.But playing the drums by myself got old after the band went south.I sold the kit.
So...I'm sitting here one night watching "Oh brother where art thou" and noticed the guy playing guitar in the background and he was using a guitar riff I used to play all the time.So,off to Coos Bay(since our local music supply store closed) and picked up a new flat top and started writing music again.I had forgotten how much fun it was/is and bingo!
New hobby.
Now I can amuse myself and anyone who stops by with songs from the 60's 70's and early 80's.
Funny thing is,they don't stay as long as they used to.I wonder why? Oh,well.
Only problem is I can't take my blood sugar test in my fingers anymore because of the pain,so I do it in the fatty part of the arm.Works fine.
I know I broke one of my rules of retirement my buying a guitar instead of borrowing one from a friend,but the only friend I have that plays guitar, plays bass (Sgt.Stumble) and he ain't given it up.But I do have "dibs" on it when he kicks the bucket :o)
That's the kind of friends I have...you just gotta wait until they die.

To bad I can't sing,or maybe it's a good thing,the dogs in the neighborhood would go crazy.
