Gore neither claimed nor said he invented the internet.
It was always the Bush Repubs who turned Gore's popularization of the internet into the bogus idea
that he invented it. True, that without Gore the internet may not have caught on the way it did and as quickly. But the Repubs loved the idea that they could say that Gore said he invented it. And they got a lot of mileage out of this bogus statement in the 2000 election smeers. I assume that the rest of the article is equally loose with its rendition of the truth.
